Under -38°C, “XCMG Golden” works firmly!
Release Date: February 22, 2021

“A hundred leagues locked in ice. A thousand leagues of whirling snow.” This verse describes the enchanting scenery of the north in the heart of Chairman Mao. “White snow” in the vast land is where people long for. There is such a place in Xilin Gol League of Inner Mongolia where you can enjoy such beautiful scenery!

On the way to the Fengding UHV 300MW project site in Sonid Left Banner, the road is covered with heavy snow, which makes the vehicle easy to skid. The temperature at the site is as low as -38°C, and the wind is piercingly cold. Snowflakes rise in the wind, bringing a bitter chill to the face.

By contrast, dozens of white fans rise abruptly out of the ground. Huge blades rotate slowly, delivering green electricity to thousands of households. This cannot realize without the contribution of “XCMG Golden”.

At the construction site, XCMG XGC500 crawler crane adopts the standard wind power working condition of "96+7" meters to lift the blades with a diameter of 130.5 meters to an altitude of 90 meters in an orderly way, and then the blades are put into position accurately. The perfect construction performance in the extremely cold environment highlights the excellent quality and strong strength of XCMG.

For this construction, XGC500 operator Wang has a lot of feelings:

According to the national standard, it is recommended the crane works under -20°C ~+40°C. Operating in such cold weather under nearly -40°C requires high equipment performance. In order to ensure normal operation of the machine and safe construction conditions, we provide the crane with aviation hydraulic oil and anti-freeze oil suitable for low temperature environment.

Inner Mongolia is one of the earliest birthplaces of China’s wind power and also a national first-class wind farm, with exploitable wind energy resources ranking first in the country.

According to incomplete statistics, a total of nearly 30 XCMG large-tonnage crawler cranes are working for wind power projects in wind farms of Inner Mongolia, highly contributing to the development of the wind power industry in the local.

No matter in the extreme cold, scorching heat, or in the snowy plateau or wilderness to the north of Gobi Desert, the shining “XCMG Golden” always takes the lead and continuously charges forward, profoundly explaining the strength and responsibility of the pillars of a great power.
