On August 28, 2020, "Building China's Strength in Transportation and Lead the Future with Intelligence" - the Beijing-Xiong'an Highway Unmanned Fleet Intelligent Construction Observation was held in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei Province.
This observation was sponsored by Hebei Expressway Group Limited and Beijing-Xiong'an Highway Preparatory Office of Hebei Expressway Group Limited, organized by Chongqing Communications Construction (Group) Co., Ltd. and XCMG Road Machinery Division, and attended by more than 300 participants including highway practitioners, industry experts, and business representatives from various provinces to discuss strategies of building China into a country with a strong transportation network and witness the technical results of unmanned fleets.
The first case around the world!
As a vertical highway belonging to the planning of Xiong’an New District, the Beijing-Xiong'an Highway adopts intelligent and innovative construction concepts with two inner lanes being the special lanes for unmanned driving. The "special lane for unmanned driving" is built by unmanned fleets, being the first case around the world.
As we all know, Xiong'an New Area in Hebei Province, as one of the first construction pilots to build a strong transportation network in China, shoulders the great mission of "creating a model for high-quality development and a new engine for a modern economic system".
This time, the intelligent application of unmanned fleets is the latest achievement in realizing construction of smart highways by leveraging on new technologies such as 5G, big data, and the Internet of Things.
The unmanned fleets of XCMG debuted in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei Province!
On an afternoon of early autumn, the Beijing-Xiong'an Highway was under construction in full swing with 3 pavers moving together and closely followed by 6 road rollers, creating a spectacular scene.
It's learned that the SG2 section of Beijing-Xiong'an Highway is constructed by Chongqing Communications Construction. Since the construction of Beijing-Xiong'an Highway starts in an all-round way and is in large scale, tight timeline and high standards, Chongqing Communications Construction applies unmanned clusters to tackle construction difficulties in an innovative way, creating the largest intelligent construction application of unmanned clusters across the world.
The building of an intelligent era together!
Xiong'an New Area, a strategy crucial for the next millennium. The Beijing-Xiong'an Highway is a convenient expressway connecting Beijing and Xiong'an, representing the newest thought of intelligent transportation construction.
XCMG carried out technology R&D for intelligent unmanned clusters by cooperating with Tsinghua University and implemented the results in the SG2 section of the Beijing-Xiong'an Highway to promote the building of a country with a strong transportation network and the application of intelligent unmanned clusters by binding enterprise, university, institute, and implementation.
As the witnesses of this grand gathering of scientific and technological achievements, more than 300 participants took group photos at the intelligent construction site by unmanned clusters to create a new era and share a new business.
