On April 2, Emerson Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe has cordially met with XCMG Machinery delegation members, including Lu Chuan, President of XCMG Machinery and Chairman of XCMG Import & Export Co., Ltd., Liu Jiansen, President Assistant of XCMG Machinery and General Manager of XCMG Import & Export Co., Ltd., etc.

President Mnangagwa’s visit to China is at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. This is the first time that Emerson Mnangagwa has officially visited a country other than African nations since he became the president of Zimbabwe last November.

President Lu Chuan expressed his gratitude to President Mnangagwa for sparing time for the bilateral meeting since his arrival in China and congratulated him on his election on November 24 last year. He also sincerely praised Zimbabwe’s development under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.

President Lu Chuan made an introduction concerning the history, current situation and development strategy of XCMG to President Mnangagwa, while elaborating upon Chinese President Xi’s earnest expectations and entrustment to XCMG during his visit to the company on December 12, 2017. Meanwhile, he also introduced the XGMG's deep cultivation of the Zimbabwean market over the past 20 years in detail and expressed the corporation’s profound willingness to fully support Zimbabwe's national development.

President Mnangagwa showed great interest in President Lu’s introduction, expressing his regret in being unable to visit XCMG due to limited time of state visit and hoping that he could come to XCMG during his next visit to China. President Mnangagwa highly valued the bilateral meeting and proposed that the cooperation on Zimbabwe’s projects under construction currently could be reached during this visit to China.

President Mnangagwa once again expressed his appreciation to XCMG for its sound role in the development of Zimbabwe, hoping that the company would increase the investment in his country and contribute more to its construction.
