Thematic Briefing of “Stories of CPC: Innovation Drive, Transformation & Development – the Practices of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee”

On August 31, the International Department of the CPC Central Committee held the Thematic Briefing of “Stories of CPC: Innovation Drive, Transformation & Development – the Practices of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee”, and invited leaders of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee to brief foreign party leaders and dignitaries currently visiting China, high-level diplomats from foreign embassies in China, and representatives from foreign chambers of commerce and multinational companies, the implementation of General Secretary of CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping’s new concepts, new thoughts and new strategies about the “Governance of China” in Jiangsu Province, and demonstrate the outstanding achievements, experiences and efforts made and adopted in the “innovation drive, transformation & development” practices through the implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instruction by CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.

At the Thematic Briefing, Secretary of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee briefed the audience and the Minister of the International Department of CPC Central Committee delivered a speech. Representatives from political parties in the U.S., Russia, Denmark, Norway, Spain, Romania, Belorussia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Japan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, the Middle East countries, Morocco, Burundi and from the European Parliament, foreign scholars, high-level diplomats from foreign embassies in China, and representatives from foreign chambers of commerce and multinational companies attended the Briefing.

Li Qiang shared with the audience the innovative development cases in Jiangsu Province at the Briefing, in which he specifically told the stories of XCMG to illustrate the innovative development in the north of the province.

Li Qiang said, “XCMG, a company situated in the north of Jiangsu Province, has grown into one of the largest construction machinery manufacturers in the world over past 70 years. Recently, XCMG has established China’s first Industrial Internet of Things and Big Data Platform. With the platform, XCMG is capable of conducting management, operation and maintenance throughout the life cycle of over 400,000 machines it sold over the years. From this picture, we can clearly know the information about the machines in operation in different regions, which can show the economic activity of these partially.”

With the Industrial Internet of Things and Big Data Platform, XCMG injects the new genes of growth and development into industries, helps with the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing sectors, and enables “Made in China” to shift to “Intelligently Made in China” and develop along the track of the intelligence of products, intelligent manufacturing and the Internet.

The Internal Department of the CPC Central Committee and CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee also held two small-scale forums respectively themed with “Economic Globalization and Innovative Development” and “Innovation-oriented Talents and Innovative Development” during the Briefing. Leaders from Jiangsu Provincial Commission of Development and Reform, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, local governments and enterprises, shared with foreign guests the stories about industrial transformation, innovative talents and innovative development. Li Qiang and Song Tao also attended the two forums and visited Jiangsu Innovation-driven Transformation and Development Exhibition and the Exhibition of Innovative Achievements by Enterprises Based in Jiangsu.

With the company of Secretary Li Qiang, Minister Song Tao visited XCMG’s booth. Li Qiang introduced to the Minister that XCMG is a highly international company with excellent innovation abilities, and its achievements are respectable and remarkable. Li Qiang asked about XCMG’s 100-meter overhead elevating firefighting truck and the 4,000-ton crawler crane, the one with the largest tonnage in the world, and highly rated XCMG an incredible company.

The vivid simulation of how XCMG’s complete sets of equipment work, which was erected at the sandbox, received great attention appreciation from foreign envoys and guests.  

XCMG’s interpreter is introducing XCMG’s business layout and sales performance in America to visitors.
