On March 27th, in an ocean project on a coast in Shandong Province, an XCMG XGC28000 crawler crane showed its strength by successfully completing the lift of an oil boring platform.
Due to job site restrictions, SHW super-lift and tower auxiliary jib (102m main jib + 54m auxiliary jib) were applied in the lifting. With a working radius of 41m, the workload amounted to 90% of the rated load. XGC28000 lifted the platform leg to the height of 100m and smoothly completed the construction within 40 minutes.
High and heavy legs are of the most important parts to ocean oil boring platforms, requiring high accuracy in installing yet with extreme difficulty due to the unstable construction environment of ocean projects. With high stability, XGC28000 can shorten the working period and reduce cost, which is an innovation of hoisting in ocean projects.
The fist show of XGC28000 in ocean project perfectly manifested the stability and reliability of XCMG products. It is a symbol of new hoisting technology in ocean projects and opens a new chapter of large crawler cranes.
