"How happy we are, to meet friends from afar?" On January 18, the annual creative activity of Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG) -- XCMG Experience Tour kicked off in Xuzhou. Among 3129 candidates from 54 countries, five overseas XCMG fans from Russia, Brazil, Kenya and Pakistan were elected to open a one-week long visiting tour as XCMG trainees.
First impression
Although it was in the middle of the cold winter, the sunshine was fine. On the first day, XCMG trainees excitedly opened their first close contact. Five interior-selected tutors gave a warm welcome waving national flags. A welcome bag composed of uniform, tie, notebook, four-in-one product mode and name card made them feel warm.

In the morning, XCMG trainees and tutors had a friendly communication, sharing XCMG’s development, international achievements, knowledge of engineering machinery and their life and work experience.

I am very glad to have this opportunity, because a real experience comes more than tens of thousands of ideas. I believe this experience can make me better."

54 year old Russell Thomas Jennings from the USA is oldest trainee. He affectionately said: "my father and grandfather were engaged in engineering machinery industry. I helped my father to operate engineering machinery in the field from 5 years old. Although I am an English teacher, my love for the machine still exists. I am very much looking forward to this trip!"

In the afternoon, trainees visited Asia’s largest Vibration Noise Laboratory, XCMG Research Institute Engineering and Technology Center and Industrial Design Center, witnessing the high-end and advanced technology.

When trainees took off the eyeshade and stepped into the Vibration Noise Laboratory, Russell Jennings excitedly said: "Amazing! It is very great!" Laiq Shah from Pakistan was a student of mechanical engineering, and he showed great interest and heartfelt admiration on XCMG’s manufacturing and innovation ability.

Assisted by 3D printing researchers, trainees understand the latest application of 3D printing technology in mechanical engineering, and polish the XCMG logo model. Under the guidance of professional personnel, XCMG logos were polished smoothly and beautifully, was and given as a special gift to them.

Visits and practices
On January 20, trainees visited the Experience Hall, office area and living area, and witnessed XCMG's yesterday, today and tomorrow. On the second floor of the Experience Hall, a giant sand table covering an area of nearly 90 square meters attracted their eyes. The vivid product model, systematic product line and sound use of light and electricity made them feel surprised. They all stopped to watch and take photos.

The virtual driving on the third floor of the Experience Hall let trainees had a real visual, auditory and tactile experience of operating engineering machinery like cranes and fire engines. They lingered in the hall, and were deeply impressed by the rich content, advanced means and profound implication. Butyrev, 42, is now Director of Business Development at NTT Asia-Pacific. He has a strong interest in construction machinery. He said: "I like the feeling of changing the world, and the construction machinery can make our world more beautiful."

Sports and the Olympic spirit of "faster, higher, stronger" is the bridge of friendship among people in the world. Trainees stepped into the gym and had a friendly badminton match, further narrowing the distance between each other.

In the afternoon, trainees visited intelligent manufacturing base of large tonnage loader which covers an area of 230 thousand square meters. Stepping across the door, they saw the English welcome displayed on an electronic screen, as well as staffs dressed like cartoon characters "Xinxin" and "Rongrong", feeling warm and cordial in the chilly winter.

Stepping into the huge plant, in the workshop with a high degree of automation and digital operation, cutting machine, welding machine, machine hand and other machinery are working. AVG robots are busy working according to the fixed route. Here, procedures like blanking, structuring, coating, and assembling can be completed without stopping. This is the world's largest joint plant in construction machinery industry and China's largest tonnage loader intelligent manufacturing base.

After training in the tube section, trainees had a competition on hose jacket installation with the "Jiangsu Women’s Civilization” winners and operated XCMG’s most advanced laser cutting machine to produce plates engraved with their names, which were later given as souvenir.

Then trainees watched training program of "National Road Building and Maintenance System Skills Contest" and driving skills of top loader drivers and product performance. Under the guidance of professionals, they experienced driving the skid steer loader. Jos Alessandro Silva Costa from Brazil had operated engineering machinery and he gave an interactive performance with XCMG operators using slip loader, winning a lot of applauses. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, the visit to carry-scraper division concluded with success.

The tour continued until January 24. More activities include watching "iron Spiderman ET110 performance and excavator writing calligraphy, learning paper-cut, clay sculpture, calligraphy and making dumplings, and visiting Chinese culture scenic area. We believe that through thorough arrangement and planning, trainees can further understand, accept, and love XCMG and China's high-end technology, advanced products and cultural connotation.
